Our General meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month from 6:30-9:00 pm. Our usual location is at Lenox Health Greenwich Village, 200 W. 13th Street.
For the foreseeable future, all meetings will be virtual. Get on our list to receive our bulletins with connecting information.
Become a Member
Memberships are annual from the date of your first membership and range from $15 for students and Seniors to $35 for a general membership or up to $100 for sponsoring membership.
Membership is required to vote on candidate endorsements, resolutions distributed to various elected officials on issues of progressive interest and to vote on club leadership, annually.

The first is to sign onto our list to receive announcements about meetings, their topics, our invited guest speakers and panels. VID additionally corroborates with other political clubs and organizations for rallies, forums, campaign activities that our highlighted in communications to our list. You should also know we NEVER share this list; and you can Opt-Out at any time.

Voter Outreach Chair
This committee was formed to engage effectively with all upcoming elections.
They meet regularly, host forums, phone banks, petitioning as well as actively collaborating with other organizations throughout the City, State and Nation to advance progressive Democratic candidates.
Fund Raising/Gala Committee
VID raises funds for a variety of voter outreach purposes; special forums and, of course, the Annual Gala
Environment Committee
For many years VID has spearheaded action on the environment. The committee chair, Nat Johnson, member Anne Heaney and long-time member Frieda Bradlow have followed the issues of fracking, nuclear power plants, and most recently the Algonquin Pipeline.
This committee has led the City on organic waste and recycling.
Gun Reform Committee
Formed to suport the Parkland student activists in 2018, VID’s Gun Reform committee works to reduce gun violence in our City and State by mobilizing voters and working with elected officials to pass common sense gun reform.
Animal Welfare Committee
With the increasing focus of the New York City Council and the New York State Legislature on Animal Welfare issues, this committee was formed to propose and monitor pending legislation as well as comment on existing legislation.
We have written letters regarding the extreme pediatric spay/neuter age as well as cat declawing.
The committee is working to ban the sale of cats, dogs and rabbits in pet stores city and state-wide
Education Committee
VID’s Education committee works actively to assure every student has equal access to a quality education.
